Dying Stars

This requires a basic knowledge of all tools in photoshop,
if you do it right, it will DAZZLE your friends!


Step 1: Open Photoshop, go to FILE> NEW and use these settings, more or less.

Step 2: Then, start a new layer, and go to the Marquee Tool (M) and Select Elliptical Marquee,
Press SHIFT while making the circle,
don't make it too big, or you'll run into problems later on.

Step 3: Go to EDIT > FILL, or SHIFT + F5, and fill it to WHITE.

Step 4: These steps are essential, after much trial-and-error,
I've determined these drop shadow preferences to work the best.

Step 5: Now, go to the color boxes in the toolbox, and pick any two colors, then use these gradient effects.

Step 6: Now, go to the Lasso Tool (L) and cut little scars into your circle, press SHIFT to make multiple cuts.
Afterwards, press DELETE and CTRL+D, respectively.

Step 7: Flatten the image, or merge all layers.

Step 8: Go to FILTER > DISTORT > POLAR COORDINATES, and use these settings.

Step 9: Rotate the image IMAGE > ROTATE CANVAS > 90 CW.

Step 10: Go to FILTER > STYLIZE > WIND. Use From the Right,
and press CTRL+F, repeat with the setting Use from the Left.

Step 11: Now, IMAGE > ROTATE CANVAS > 90 CCW.

Step 12: FILTER > DISTORT > POLAR COORDINATES, and use these settings.

Step 13: FILTER > DISTORT > OCEAN RIPPLE, and use these settings.

End of excerise: You should now have something that looks like this.
Tips: Use the Color balances tool to change the color around to your liking.
